When you are in trial, the last thing you want to be worrying about is finding exhibits. You want to identify an exhibit for the witness to review and it "magically" appears on whatever screen they are looking at. Everything should work and happen at the push of a few buttons. When you work with Best EP this is what you get. In addition, you get a decade's worth of in-trial experience that aids you in preparing exhibits for trial, analyzing the evidence as it comes in, and making suggestions for evidence presentation.
If a deposition was videographed then we convert the video into a high quality format and synchronize it. Other audio or video media can be synchronized, as well if there is a transcript. Synchronization matches the video to the transcript which allows us to play specific portions of the audio/video. You can designate a portion of the transcript to be played for the jury which allows them to hear the the witness respond in his/her own voice, or they can hear what the environment was like at the time of the recording. This is a much more engaging way to present evidence. Additionally, we can play the audio/video and display the transcript text at the same time which reinforces what is being heard or seen. Clips made from synchronized depositions canned be used for impeachment, refreshing recollection and in-lieu of live testimony.
We use reliable equipment in the courtroom to ease your stress and clearly display your evidence.
All of our equipment is tested before it brought into the courtroom for use in your trial. Although we use cutting edge technology, we only use what is proven to be reliable. Technology is not any good if it does not work!
Although it is starting to become more common for courtrooms to be equipped with presentation equipment, their equipment may not be ideal for presenting your evidence. So, for the times when there is not any equipment or the court's own is of inferior quality, we offer equipment that will display your evidence in a clear and appealing manner.
We keep depositions in a digital database specifically designed for your case, which allows for quick access and searching.

Arbitrations require the same level of attention as a trial. We have the equipment and experience to help you present your arbitration in a time-saving and engaging manner.

Once we have the documents in your case-specific database we create custom indexes by manually coding or by using the documents’ meta-data. Whether we have scanned your documents and exhibits or you have provided them to us in electronic format we create an index which lists several key fields about the documents such as a description, page count and document ID. This allows both you and us to know what has been provided and added to our database. The index is also searchable which is helpful in larger productions.
We also create and maintain indexes for depositions/deposition exhibits and audio/video media. Cases will, from time to time, need special indexes or logs which are easily created and maintained. Having indexes keeps everyone on the same page and helps eliminate duplicative efforts of sending and adding documents.
One great addition to modern technology is cloud-based storage. Services like Dropbox, Google Drive and Apple iCloud give you access to documents, photos and videos from your computer, tablet and smartphone. Cloud-based storage synchronizes your files across all of your devices. It makes collaboration and file sharing easy among colleagues and opposing counsel. It is an excellent option to sending us files, it allows you to save time and money by not burning and shipping discs. Once we have your trial exhibits we like to upload them to your online storage. Adding your trial exhibits to the cloud gives you access to them wherever you are and whenever you are working.
In the quick-paced format of a mock trial, you need someone with experience to come along side you who can help you organize and present the evidence in a concise, engaging and informative way. At Best EP, we understand this and work with you and your team to develop a presentation that reflects the information and evidence you wish to communicate.
Preparing exhibits for Opening and Closing can be as complex as you want to be. We can use our trial presentation software to show documents or photos, deposition or trial testimony, audio/video exhibits and synchronized audio/video. We can also create an animated PowerPoint such as we do for the timelines we design.
PowerPoints are useful in many situations, such as Timelines, Opening Statements, Closing Arguments, and Client or Firm Presentations. We can create and design simple and complex PowerPoints for whatever need you have.
You might be giving a presentation to clients or potential clients to help them better mitigate their risk. Or, you might be giving a training to other attorneys or participating in a training session for yourself. Whatever the occasion might be sometimes you need a PowerPoint done. We can work with you to prepare a professional and engaging presentation for your audience.
We print both color and black-and-white in standard sizes. We can also do large scale prints for reproducing maps or exhibit boards. When we prepare your exhibits, each page is endorsed with the exhibit and page number. Marking each page prevents mix-ups and helps keep everyone together. Each exhibit binder is identified by a volume number and the exhibits contained within.
Our scanners are setup to scan both color and black-and-white from receipt-sized documents up to tabloid size. We can also scan oversize documents such as maps, plans and drawings. We typically scan at 300 dpi which displays great on the screen. Part of our scanning process is to rotate and deskew the scanned pages. We scan with the appropriate settings to ensure you get a great image.
Timelines are a great way to help orientate the jury to the events surrounding the issues at hand. Depending on your specific needs, we can create a timeline to be simple, with just text entries, or complex, with audio, video, documents, animations and more.
